Kaua‘i Fishing Charters

At Ocean Charters Kaua‘i, we use time-tested techniques and island know-how to target reef predators using live bait, chunk bait, specialty lures, and jigging—or head offshore to troll for pelagic species like ahi, mahi mahi, ono, and marlin. Whether it’s your plan or what the ocean conditions call for, we mix methods and read the water to create a solid, authentic day on the ocean.

Kaimanu is larger and more stable than many other charter boats, offering a smoother ride and more space to move comfortably.

    • 6am and 12pm departures

Safety & Preparation
We believe being prepared allows for the most enjoyable experience. As a Coast Guard–certified vessel, Kaimanu is inspected and verified to operate safely in offshore conditions.

  • To be in a splash zone unless you are seated under the cab.

  • Sushi, sashimi, poke, beer battered smoked, dried or fried? Let’s catch some local kine grinds! Our 4-hour adventure will guarantee a good time and good vibes while we hunt for fish.

    • 1-6 passengers: $1000

    • 7-11 passengers: $200/person added to $1000 base rate

  • An extension of our 4-hour charter gives us more time on the water to explore, fish harder, and increase your chances of landing the best fish of your lifetime.

    • 1-6 passengers: $1500

    • 7-11 passengers: $200/person added to the $1500 base rate

  • The ultimate offshore experience—venture farther, target larger pelagic fish, and make a full day of it.

    This is your best chances of landing the best fish of your lifetime!

    • 1-6 passengers: $2000

    • 7-11 passengers: $200/person added to the $2000 base rate

  • Head out to less chartered territory, have maximum “line in the water time,” and increase your odds by going beyond the partial day booking options.

    • Must call in to discuss details and to confirm availability.

  • Whale watching and/or sightseeing may be added to any tour during booking.

    • Whale Watching is generally available December-April

    • Sightseeing is available year-round

Additional Information

  • Prices do not include taxes, harbor fee, cc fee, online booking fee, or gratuities for crew members.

  • Cancellation policy is 14 days prior to your scheduled charter date.

  • Non-residents aged 15 and older must purchase a license for recreational marine (saltwater) fishing in Hawaii (https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dar/licenses-and-permits/nonresident-recreational-marine-fishing-license/)

  • All your tackle and expert instruction are provided.

  • A light lunch (sandwich & chips) or a deluxe catered lunch can be arranged for an additional charge upon request for our private fishing charters.

  • Fishing charter minimum age requirement is 5 yrs.

  • Reef fishing trips have a minimum age of 5 yrs.

  • Light tackle trolling trips, minimum age is 5 yrs.

  • Fishing/Whale Watching/Sightseeing combo charter minimum age is 3 yrs.

  • Not recommended for pregnant women, anyone with a history of health, heart, or back problems, or the disabled, including anyone who has had any recent surgeries.
